709th Maint & 99th CSB Serving At Tan An
Tan An Main Post
There was two sides to the base at Tan An. Tan An Main Post would have been on the east side of hwy 4 and the town of Tan An. The Base was HHC 3 Bde and also housed PX, Mars Station, 3rd Bde. Command Center, 9th Div MP, and some additional Infantry units.
Tan An Air Field AKA Tan An West
Tan An Air field was on the west side of Hwy 4 and the town of Tan An. Stationed on the air field side was most of the 99th CSB., Co C 15th Eng, 9th Med Bn. and 2 Avn units, 9th Admin Bn. and 9th S&T Bn. Tan An West had an Air Field, Post Office (APO), Hospital and a small Club with beer & pizza.
