There was two sides to the base at Tan An. Tan An Main Post would have been on the east side of hwy 4 and the town of Tan An. The Base was HHC. 3 Bge. and also housed PX, Mars Station, 3rd Bge. Command Center, 9th Div MP, And some Inf. units
Tan An Air Field A/K/A Tan An West
Tan An Air field was on the west side of Hwy 4 and the town of Tan An. Stationed on the air field side was most of the 99th CSB., Co C 15th Eng, 9th Med Bn. and 2 Avn units, 9th Admin Bn. and 9th S&T Bn. Tan An West had an Air Field , Post Office (APO), Hospital and a small Club with Beer& pizzas
